FAQ Regarding the Move of the Sound Works Studio
Q: So what's going on?
We are closing the main Sound Works studio/storefront, moving to a smaller private studio, and concentrating on our location recording services. We'll be out by the end of March.
Q: Why are you doing this?
Location recording has long been our core business - one that we are the recognized "area experts" in, and one in which we are well entrenched. It makes sense to concentrate on this business. We simply do not need a full recording studio, with all the overhead, to do this work.
Q: So you'll still be doing the PMEA and county festival recordings and such?
ABSOLUTELY! In fact, we still have a bunch of those this season and some already booked for next season! This is the very area we are concentrating on and we look forward to continuing our services to the PMEA, County MEA, community, church, professional, and organizational concert bands, choruses, and orchestras. We will still have the EXACT same great recording gear, editing/mastering systems, and CD duplication equipment we've always had.
Q: What about your audio and video transfer services for VHS, camera tapes, records, and such?
While that has been good for us over the years, our new location will not facilitate the walk-in/store-front nature of that business. We will therefore discontinue these services at the end of February.
Q: So what's happening to all the equipment?
We are selling most of it! in fact, right now, everything is being set up for people to come in, look at, test, and purchase most of the gear ... including mics, instruments, rack gear, accessories, furniture, and more. If interested in some great deals, see this PAGE.
Q: So what about bands and artists that want to record?
We will no longer be recording bands, artists, singers, etc. Our new location will not facilitate these services. We will certainly miss this aspect of the business and all the great bands and artists we've worked with over the years!
Q: And your professional video services?
We are discontinuing those services
Q: What about bands and artists that you've recorded in the past? What if they need more CDs or want their project or master files?
We are keeping ALL of the masters and files for everything we've recorded since 2011. In addition we have many of the masters for artists who recorded before that. We will still be able to fulfill orders for additional CDs and master discs. Please contact us for specific information.
Q: How do we contact you after March?
We will have the same phone number ... 717-632-3941 ... the same email ... email@example.com ....
and will also have this same web site. Obviously, our mailing address will change. We'll get that info out at the appropriate time.
